Totally fine! Our most recent flight path was Boise - Salt Lake City - Paris - Lisbon. It was a long day, but sometimes the longer options are cheapest.
HUGE TIP: If you have an international layover, make sure it is longer than 2 hours to connect. Large airports like Paris require you to go through customs and security again, which is much more time consuming. -
Keep your most important items in your carry-on in case anything happens. Add an AirTag to your checked bag. European regulations for carry on fluids is different than the U.S.A. Liquids in your carry on must be 100ml or less, and they must ALL fit into 1 single quart size bag. European travel info to reference

Currently, you just need a valid U.S. passport with 6+ months before expiration to enter Portugal. There is a chance that an ETIAS Visa will be introduced in 2026, but we will inform you as necessary!

Cascais and Estoril are beautiful coastal towns, and we think you'll love spending time here. You can relax on the beach, stroll along the seaside promenade, or explore charming streets filled with local shops and cafés. Don’t miss the chance to catch the sunset, visit oceanfront landmarks like Boca do Inferno, or enjoy fresh seafood with a view. Definitely a laid back vacation vibe out here!
If you choose to arrive early, you can also book a day trip to tour the historic town of Sintra, which is a short 45 minute drive away. -
If you’re arriving early or planning to extend your trip, there are so many beautiful places to explore beyond the wedding! Within Portugal, you can head south to the Algarve for golden beaches and dramatic cliffs, north to Porto for riverside charm and port wine, or even hop over to the lush island of Madeira. For a quick international getaway, you might consider Barcelona or Madrid in Spain, the romantic streets of Paris, the sunny French Riviera, or iconic spots in Italy like Rome, Florence, or Venice. Once you get over there, Europe is literally at your fingertips—and we sincerely hope you make the most of it!
